Lonely Planet review for Belga Queen

The Belga Queen is Brussels' queen of indulgence. Generous opening hours, a fabulous restaurant with an equally fab crowd, a lustrous ecailler (oyster bar) and a cigar bar leave you no excuses for not visiting. The main menu (split between meat and fish) even has a vegetarian section and low-calorie options for visiting supermodels.

Belga Queen is a MUST SEE if in Brussels, it is in a class of its own! Hidden in a touristic area in the centre, is an art nouveau gem. The decor is very upmarket and impressive, brought upto date with some kitch installations. While not a cheap restaurant, it is not overpriced and the fresh seafood is out of this world! For 60 Euros you can have a platter for two with an abundance of every species of crustacean imaginable. They even serve potatoes as 'frites' in a cone... the only way to eat potatoes in Brussels!

It is also one of the few restaurants where you are greeted enthusiastically after 11pm on a Sunday night. The well-groomed, polite staff are dressed in a rather original get-up, however, they did forget to bring the side orders.

The restaurant is huge with smaller themed bars around it, i.e. oyster bar, beer bar etc. It is the perfect place for a romantic dinner, girly tete-a-tete, group get together or some simple indulgence! Try this restaurant.
