One of the best ways to get up close and personal with a wide variety of Brussels’ architecture is with the resident-run heritage conservation group, Atelier de Recherche et d’Action Urbaine, which runs a programme of coach tours (€15) and walking tours (€10) taking you into buildings across all styles and eras that are often otherwise off-limits. Bookings can be made online through the Brussels tourist office.

The Visit Brussels Line is a hop-on hop-off double-decker buses that stop at 13 places including the Atomium, Place Royale and the EU's Rond Point Schuman. These buses leave Gare Centrale every half-hour. Tickets can be bought on the bus.
