Hi all :) - I'm arriving in Dhaka Mid-August for vacation.

1) I've hit a problem trying to book a Dhaka to Cox Bazar flight online using a USA Visa card - so I cannot book in advance of my trip. It seems USA issued cards are not accepted.

Is this also the case when paying for hotels in person when I arrive - is it a policy of some kind?

I'm in the US now but if my cards aren't going to work when I arrive in Dhaka, I need to plan for traveler's cheques or something else....
Any advice is…

I'm arriving direct from Australia for 2 weeks via a transit in KL. It appears that a tourist visa is available on arrival. Is it OK to go with this or should I arrange visa beforehand. Bangladesh Embassy website a little confusing

Hey all,

Yet another visa post, I apologise in advance but just want to confirm a few things!

I shall (probably) be travelling to Bangladesh in October, arriving at Dhaka airport. Is the VoA still available for USD51?

I intend to stay for 3 weeks and I will have a full itinerary. Is it a problem if I intend to leave the country overland to India via the Dhaka-Kolkata train? I will not have any evidence of this exit (ticket can't be booked online for this?), apart from (maybe) a flight out of…

I know it is hard to visit the Chittagong Hill Tracts nowadays, but what if you book a tour is it then
possible to visit if the tour agency arrange it for you beforehand, only if you visit Bandarban and surroundings?

I think the Hill Tracts are one of the most amazing sightseeing in Bangladesh.

Thanks,

Rick

Hello,

I am planning to travel to Bangladesh by land from India. Most unofficial sites say you can only get a visa on arrival if arriving to Bangladesh by air.

However, I have seen it repeated several places in official Bangladesh notices that:

"Only for the purpose of official duty, business, investment and tourism
citizens arriving from USA, Canada, Europe, [...] may issue visa on arrival after examining and being
satisfied by the immigration authority at the…

Hello,

I know it's been discussed frequently, but seeing as it appears to be in a constant state of flux, I have a question concerning the Hill Tracts Permit:
I, along with two friends, plan to visit Bandarban and Rangamati in the time just after Eid - 19-23 July.
However, I have been told that from 15-21July, almost all offices will be closed, meaning we would not be able to go via Chittagong and get our permit from the District Commissioner's office.

Are there any alternative ways to arrange…
