My Harley gets 50 MPG, so bear with me....I leave Kyle, Texas at the break of day and shoot straight for Lake Bastrop. The north boat ramp offers excellent bass fishing from the shore and the view is incredible. After a couple of hours of catch and release, I pack up the saddle bag and go south to Buda, Texas, to Cabelas Outfitters. Here I can fantasize that the one that got away was nearly as big as the whoppers that reside in their beautiful freshwater aquarium. Heading west, there is a lunch stop in Dripping Springs for the world-famous Salt Lick Barbecue. I've seen grown men get in fist-fights about whether or not this is the best barbecue in Texas. The bike has its own personality, and forces me to stop at Daisy Duke's on the Guadelupe River for some sweet tea and views of the toobers who have found the ultimate way to cool off in the Texas heat. As I make my way south to Selma, I see who is playing at the massive amphitheater which plays host to some of the best concerts and music festivals in the San Antonio area. Making my way back to the big city of Kyle--don't laugh, we have a Dairy Queen--the cool night air in my hair is a refreshing contrast rest of the day. As I sneak into bed, my wife asks, "Where've you been all day?"; to which I reply, "Just out for a ride."
