I'm planning my next backpacking adventure through Europe. Last time I briefly passed through Austria on the train and couldn't believe how stunning the vista was so I wanted to visit one day! I'm a 20 yr old female travelling solo, my questions are:
1.) Is it safe for female travelers alone?
2.) Best places to visit for a week or twos trip? I'd like to narrow it to two places really so I'm not trying to do too much! I love nature that's one of the main reasons I'm heading there to see…
I'm going to visit Vienna in June with my wife and 3 year-old daughter for the first time.
I need your suggestions for this travel.
We will arrive at Vienna airport from Amsterdam by Austrian Air at noon.
We will have 1 big suitcase and a baby buggy.
We have not decided any plans in Vienna yet.
What transportation is the best/easiest from the airport to the city center for our case?
Which area is a good place to stay with a child?
Do you have any good places…
My boyfriend and I are hoping to visit some of those spectacular mountain areas in Western Austria.
We'll be arriving from Vienna, on our way meandering towards Amsterdam in beginning of April.
I know there are a lot of fancy ski resorts, and the snow will be starting to melt at lower elevations.
Place we can hike or snowshoe or cross-country ski
(We will take what the weather gives us, we're just hoping for beautiful trails)
A pretty, relaxed place (not an expensive ski resort)
Hi! Just wanted to get some thoughts. I'm going to Prague for a conference and planning to tack on a little holiday. My plan is:
Day 1 - train from Prague to Vienna
Day 2 - in Vienna
Day 3 - ?
Day 4 - ?
Day 5 - ?
Day 6 - train to Paris
As always, I'm torn between trying to cram in as much as possible, and having a proper holiday - I suspect I'll be fairly knackered after the conference.
My question is, should I just stay in Vienna the whole time, relax, sightsee, maybe see a concert etc. Or is…
My brother and I want to do a snowboarding trip to Austria by flying to Munich airport. Which destination should we choose? Trains take over 3h to skiing areas I read. What about shuttles? Any other options than renting a car?
I am an experienced rider, my brother a beginner. We are not after partying. Cheap-mid expensive range should be ok
Thanks for help
PLEASE HELP :) I'm trying to get from Vienna to Ljubljana by train. This is my 1st time in Europe :) So I went to the Austrian Railways website https://www.oebb.at/en, typed in Wien HBF as my point of origin, Ljubljana as my destination, and all I get is 3 choices and they're all overnight and a minimum of 8 hours.
So then I found another website on Google (Go Euro) http://www.goeuro.com/travel-search2/results/371612104/train?v= and I typed in the same information and I got…
I'm lucky enough to be going to Innsbruck in June, it's a dream of mine to go to a mountain...I have incurable cancer and there are a few things I'd really like to check off my Austria bucket list...
I'll be using public transport and could do a one night stop at the right place if it's a couple of hours to get there...
I'd love to see:
Waterfalls (mobility not great so access on level ground/gondolas would be best)
Natural hot springs
Thanks for any…
My wife and I were married this past September! Planning was extremely easy, but the one thing that we could not figure out is where we would spend our honeymoon. We were thinking the usually spots: Hawaii, Caribbean, that sort of thing, but with the Zika virus spreading in those regions, it kind of put a halt on us trying to travel there. Out of nowhere one of my wife's aunt's, who in a past life was a travel agent, offered us the opportunity to stay at one of her many timeshares as a wedding…
My boyfriend and I are traveling to Vienna in March and, while we are there, he will celebrate his birthday. Obviously, it would be nice to do something to celebrate the occasion, but I'd like to keep it a surprise from him until we get there.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what we could do, or if there is somewhere we could go? I was thinking about booking some time on VREI (virtual reality cafe) but we're both bibliophiles and I was thinking maybe something based around our shared interest…
