Bodega Marqués
Calamari specialities, Gambas (shrimps) and over 30 different tapas imported from Spain help make Bodega Marqués an excellent Mediterranean choice in the Innere Stadt. Throw in 120 varieties of wine, vaulted ceilings and subdued lighting and you’ve got the makings of a romantic atmosphere. Friday and Saturday nights are the exception, when live flamenco music is featured. Steaks and mixed tapas as mains cost €16.50 to €35.

Side Step
Forty tapas (both hot and cold) and 20 wines by the glass make this slice of Spain in the heart of Josefstadt a treat. The wine is an obvious enough attraction, but you can also enjoy the likes of rissoles of lamb in tomato sauce, shrimp with garlic sauce, or goat’s cheese with homemade olive spread. The brick surroundings, easygoing air and excellent grappa are but icing on the cake.

Contor
Contor is a cosy and intimate tapas bar right on the Karmelitermarkt. Its delectable tapas are perfectly complimented by around 40 wines (from Spain, Italy and Austria), the freshest cheese from Lower Austria and the occasional impromptu guitar concert. Perfect for a romantic evening.
