Lonely Planet review for Maschu Maschu

Zippy service, a relaxed atmosphere, and delicious felafels, hummus and salads are the keys to Maschu Maschu’s success. This branch on Rabensteig, with its meagre number of tables, is better used as a takeaway joint, while another branch in Neubau is best for sit-down meals.

    Great food, great atmosphere, great prices.

    The best kebabs and falafel I've found so far in Europe. The hummus is very tasty, and served generously.

    Quick service and big portions. A wide selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks at reasonable prices.

    Unlike Lonely Planet, I recommend eating in, as this is a place with great atmosphere. There are only a few seats on a quirky balcony, but they're worth the wait.

    The restaurant is close to public transport links, easy to find, and in place that's safe during the evening.

    Main courses were priced 3.50 - 7.50 in November 2010.

    The best address for a quick eat when shopping

    When inevitably shopping down Mariahilferstrasse, turn into Neubaugasse with it's hip and trendy stores and have a quick eat at Maschu Maschu. The interior is simple but comfortable and the arabic food is wonderful. The price is good and so are the portions you get.
