Fish restaurants in Vienna

  1. A

    An-Do

Vienna held its breath for some time to see what the new An-Do fish restaurant would bring to the Brunnenmarkt vicinity. The pundits like it. Order the octopus with peperonata and polenta (€13.80) and a tentacled monster arrives out of the pages of a Jules Verne novel. Start with a fish soup (€8) and you’ll feel like you’re eating your way through the Atlantic. The quality is excellent, the staff relaxed and efficient, and Yppenmarkt and the viaduct of the U6 has such a good range of places to move on to afterwards that you can make a lively night of it out here.

  2. B

    Umar

Umar is one of the best fish restaurants in Vienna, serving fresh seafood imported from Italy and Turkey at its large Naschmarkt stall. Choose between whole fish, mussels in white-wine sauce and giant shrimps fried in herb butter. Seriously good wines from the Wachau round off a delicious eating experience.
