Lonely Planet review for Arena
A former slaughterhouse turned music and film venue, Arena is one of the city’s quirkier places to see live acts. Hard rock, rock, metal, reggae and soul (along with cinema) can be seen on its outdoor stage from May to September; over winter bands are presented in one of its two indoor halls. ‘Iceberg’, a particularly popular German-British 1970s new-wave bash, is held here once a month.

It's dirty but you can have a lot of fun!
nina0852 recommends this,
Arena is an iconic location for young people in Vienna.
During summer there are a lot of open air rock concerts. But there are also regular monthly events like 'Mainframe' (drum'n'base) or 'Ice Berg' (alternative rock).
The drinks are a bit expensive and sometimes you have to wait very long.
Entrance fees for regular events vary. But normally you have to pay between 10 and 20 €.Good for: dancing, people with an open mind
Not good for: wearing high heels
