4 days in Austria... somewhere

Hey all,

Very late notice, I'm in Salzburg at the moment and departing tomorrow, I need to find a place to visit for a few days this week and would love some suggestions.

I'm looking for a chilled out rural town/village that's accessible by train (I'm heading to Ljubljana next weekend so ideally somewhere between Salzburg and there, but I'm flexible). Somewhere in the mountains or in a valley by a lake?

Thanks in advance,

D

Day trip/overnight trip from Salzburg or Hallstatt

Hello,

I'm planning a trip to salzburg & Hallstatt with friends this weekend. So far we have planned to spend a day and a night in Salzburg. Then one more day in Hallstatt, probably stay overnight at Obertraun.

The question is, We have 1.5 more day and one more night, Where shoud we spend? We dont have car so we need to rely on public transport. The return trip will start from salzburg.

We have been to Koenigsee so I'd love to skip for now. I have looked for St. Wolfgang and Mondsee, but…

A Day or Two in Vienna

Dear all,

I'm visiting Vienna for the first time together with my wife on Nov 24-26 and have 1-2 full days there. I'd like to get your recommendations on what to do and where to go. We like history, culture, churches, sights more than bars and parties. Also, we would appreciate low-budget tips.

Thank you for sharing!

Hostels/Bars in Vienna

Hi,

I plan a trip with a few friends to the Nova Rock Festival near Vienna next year in June. Does anybody have recommendations for a hostel in Vienna? We will stay there on a few days in Vienna before we rent a camper to drive to the festival. If anybody knows rock clubs and bars tips are highly appreciated. Which is the best area to stay in?

Is a car sticker necessary when driving on the Austrian and Germany highways?

I am planning a trip from Trieste, Italy to Salzburg and am considering driving. If so, do I need to purchase a sticker prior to driving on the highways in Austria and Germany? Please feel free to share anything else that may be helpful to know.

Thanks so much.

Leaving from Zagreb, Croatia and figuring out which way to reach Prague.

I will be leaving Zagreb, Croatia around the 12th of October, and wanting to reach Prague either the 17th or 18th.

Trying to figure out if I should go the route:
Zagreb>Budapest>Vienna>Prague.
Zagreb>Graz>Vienna>Prague.
(or any other recommendations)

Cheers,
Jenny

Salzburg Mountain Biking-is it easily accessible from the city?

I'm thinking of moving to Salzburg in April of 2015. Does anyone know if there are good mountain biking trails which are easily accessible from the city without a car? I'm willing to ride up to 15k or so to get to trailheads-just wanted to see if there are good options close to the city or not.

Thanks so much!
