Linz spreads out picturesquely before you from this gastro duo, a short taxi ride from town. At ultra-chic Verdi, Erich Lukas prepares seasonal dishes with panache and precision, such as quail breast with herby risotto and plump free-range chicken with truffle gnocchi. Wood-beamed Einkehr, in the same building, is an altogether cosier affair and serves Austrian comfort food. They're 5km north of the city centre.
