- Considering we would be visiting from Budapest, should we break the journey at Salzburg & spend 1 night there before moving early morning to Salzkammergut ? or should…

We are Having real trouble finding anything that's fun, affordable and accessible.

Thinking of trying the sit skiing in Switzerland so anything that can recommended bar that would be great.

Hoping maybe to do some horse riding. Just easy riding, nothing too full on. Or even dog sledding looks like fun and I love dogs!

Proposing In Salzburg

Hey Guys,

Would love any insight you may have. I am planning on proposing to my girlfriend next week whilst I am in Salzburg. I have a romantic dinner organised to celebrate, however she has always said how she to be proposed to earlier rather than late in the evening (because if it is one of the best days of her life she wants to spend as much time celebrating).

However i have been doing heaps of research online but struggling to find a place that would be perfect to pop the question. I want…

SNOW

Just in case anyone has missed this - there is very little snow in most parts of eastern Austrian (in particular the Enns valley - Schladming and Co) and lift operations have not started in most places. If you are planning to come skiing in the near future, check your destination web camera - you might just be lucky. The situation is apparently a little better in the west of the country.

Vienna

Hello everyone,
I am going to Vienna with my wife in January, and we need to know which area is not expensive and safe to stay for 2 days only.
Of course we prefer an area close to the Vienna's attractions.
Please reply with your recommendation.
Your ideas will be greatly appreciated,
Thank you so much,

Munich or Austria for Christmas??:)

Any views on Munich vs. Austria over Christmas this year for about 8-10 days? We are traveling with kids for two years in Europe and are considering both places for Christmas holidays (we have offers for places in both right now, so have to decide asap). Right now we are driving. Both seem to have great Christmas markets, but is one city remarkably better than the other over Christmas for one reason or another?

We'll be coming back to Munich on the train in the Spring, so we'll definitely…

4 days in Austria... somewhere

Hey all,

Very late notice, I'm in Salzburg at the moment and departing tomorrow, I need to find a place to visit for a few days this week and would love some suggestions.

I'm looking for a chilled out rural town/village that's accessible by train (I'm heading to Ljubljana next weekend so ideally somewhere between Salzburg and there, but I'm flexible). Somewhere in the mountains or in a valley by a lake?

Thanks in advance,

D

Day trip/overnight trip from Salzburg or Hallstatt

Hello,

I'm planning a trip to salzburg & Hallstatt with friends this weekend. So far we have planned to spend a day and a night in Salzburg. Then one more day in Hallstatt, probably stay overnight at Obertraun.

The question is, We have 1.5 more day and one more night, Where shoud we spend? We dont have car so we need to rely on public transport. The return trip will start from salzburg.

We have been to Koenigsee so I'd love to skip for now. I have looked for St. Wolfgang and Mondsee, but…
