Hi,

I am staying in Saalbacher in mid August without a car. What is the best way to travel around ( I would like a day trip to Salzburg) on public transport. Any suggestions for other local places to travel to would be appreciated.

Many thanks in anticipation

I have been spending way to much time researching. I'm looking for 3-4 day trek covering 20-30km per day, 1-2k elevation per day, staying in inns or huts (not sure i know the difference) with good food and drink. Timing is flexible but needs to be around early Sep. Terrain should be moderate, I'll be solo so nothing too extreme.

I previously hike West Highland Way and thought it was great, looking for something similar but a little more challenging.

My travel window is tight so i need to be…

We were thinking to have a train travel from Feldkirch (Austria) to Milan just to have a scenic train view.

Apparently, it mostly goes through tunnels and not much scenery.

I appreciate any confirmation or comments on that please

I am recently back from Salzburg, and liked it a lot. I found an AirB&B on Getreidegasse, in the thick of things. Salzburg gets a lot of tourists, though. We used a "tour by local" guide, which I strongly recommend. (We were very happy with Michaela.) The regular tour groups were large, and participants had to wear hearing apparatuses to hear the guide. Tour by locals is pricier, but if you have a family, it might be close in price to a regular tour. We also took a lake tour we liked a lot. The…

Hi there,

Does anyone have any advice about the fastest way to get from Vienna to Lake Wolfgang?

I have looked on the OEBB but am not sure if it would be faster to go via Salzburg or not. I was hoping there would be a direct train to St Gilgen, and then I could get the ferry, but that seems to involve multiple buses! Any advice much appreciated - thanks.

Hello,

Me and my husband are planning for 7days road trip from Venice to Vienna in the first week of September.
Need some info about the following:

1.) Which is better or more scenic? driving rent a car from Venice to Vienna via Budapest or Salzburg?
2.) Details about the roads or highways to be taken so that we can save on our GPS.
3.) Places to stop for a night or 2 on the way to Vienna.

Thanks.

Hello,
We are looking for a Short-Stay (2 nights) camping around Vienna, in August. We prefer a rather small and sober but spacious camping, lot of green. We would like to visit Vienna by public transport from the camping. I did some research and doubt between Camping Wienerwald: http://camping-wienerwald.at and Finsterhof: http://www.camping-finsterhof.eu/.
Amy suggestions?

Yours, Bart
