Hi
My partner and I are planning a 2 week self guided bike trip (and sometimes a gentle hike)of the Salzburgerland lakes, late June/early July starting at or near Wolgansee (where we are staying).

We cycle regularly but in Austria , we are only interested in a moderate ride; its aholiday after all:-)
Can you please recommend a bicycle hire in this region .
Also, any recommendations for budget accommodation (inns or cabins) in the Salzburgerland lakes area;Wolfgansee, Bad Aussee, Bad Ischl…

Does anyone have advice for two 20 year old inexperienced female hikers on where to go to find some picturesque views?

My friend last year based herself in Vienna and had a trip to the alps in Salzburg and her pictures were amazing.

Does this sound like a good plan? Should we go to anywhere specific? If we base ourselves in Vienna what would be the best option?

Thank you in advance.

Hi,

My wife and I will be traveling to Tirol in mid October. We are in our late 20s and we enjoy picturesque towns, food and culture. We do not ski and we hope to use public transport.

1) Is October a good time to visit Tirol?
2) Can you suggest one or two bases from where we can easily access public transport.
3) Which are some of the beautiful alpine towns and villages that offer a good mountain scenery?

Does anybody have recommendations for a company hiring out small campervans/ motorhomes from Salzburg?
Also, any recommendations for campgrounds by rivers, lakes or alpine scenic surrounds around Werfen, Innsbruck, Dolomites, Slovenia (also possibly Czech republic)?
My partner and I want to hire a small campervan from Salzburg June 29th to July 25st to travel and stay in campgrounds .

We are considering a campervan but prefer a smaller vehicle if possible.

If we cant find a smaller motorhome we

I've been to Vienna once before and didn't really leave the Innere Stadt apart from a visit to Schönbrunn and this was really a pity. I did some of the typical things like Stephansdom and the Moazarthaus but this time I'd like to see some "hidden gems" if there are any :P. And by this I mean maybe there are some nice parts of the city you could recommend other than the Innere Stadt or the Mariahilf area, some nice restaurants anywhere in the city or even some touristy things that one may not…

On a recent trip to Vienna, my wife and I bought subway tickets at the entrance machine before entering the subway. We had trouble understanding the instructions on the machine; there was no ticket booth; there were no officials nearby to ask questions, only people rushing by we couldn’t ask for help.

We purchased a combined ticket for us both. Then, on the train, a subway policeman showed us his identification and checked our ticket.

We were told that we had purchased the wrong ticket. He had…

I'm hoping that others with logistical capabilities and some knowledge of Austria can help me out, please. I am planning two weeks in Austria and Czech Republic in September. I'd like to visit Vienna, and I would especially like to visit Mauthausen concentration camp on one day. In Czech Republic, I'd like to spend a night or two in Cesky Krumlov and the rest of my time in Prague.

Just from looking at the map, a logical route would seem to be: Vienna--Mauthausen--Cesky Krumlov--Prague…

Dear Travelers,
My friend and I are planning a trip from Vienna airport to Split, Croatia in May and want to travel by private transfer. Can anyone recommend an inexpensive and reliable company for it? Do they have Uber in Europe?

Also we were told that renting a car can be reasonable. Can we rent a car from Vienna and drop it off to Split? What’s the best rental car agency pricewise?
