Christkindl Post Office
If you happen to arrive in Steyr over Christmas, head for the suburb of Christkindl, to the west of the old centre. During the festive season, a special Christkindl Post Office is set up in the Christkindlkirche to handle the almost two million letters posted around the world.

Bummerlhaus
Opposite the Rathaus is the steep-gabled, late-Gothic Bummerlhaus. In the 19th century, blurry-eyed punters to this former inn called the golden lion on the sign Bummerl (small, fat dog) and the name stuck.
