Donauturm
At 252m the Danube Tower in Donaupark is Vienna’s tallest structure – next highest is the Millennium Tower at 202m. Its revolving restaurant at 170m allows fantastic panoramic views of the city and beyond – the food tends to be tried and trusted Viennese favourites. Tickets covering entrance to the Donauturm and Riesenrad cost for adult/child €11.40/5.90. The adventurous can bungee jump off the side of the tower – see the website for details.

Uhrturm
Perched on the southern edge of Schlossberg is the city's emblem, the Uhrturm. In what must have been a good deal for Europe's modernising midget, the townsfolk paid Napoleon a ransom of 2987 florins and 11 farthings to spare the clock tower during the 1809 invasion.

Wasserturm
Further south, rising between the convergence of two busy roads, is the town's Wasserturm from 1910. Its shape intentionally apes the gilded goblet donated to the townsfolk by King Matthias Corvinus of Hungary after he took the town in 1487.
