I am doing my first solo abroad trip to Europe this coming December!! I've decided to do a few days in Vienna, 4 to be exact. I wish i could be there longer but want to make the most of my few days there! The exact days are December 17th-21st.
How can i make the most of my trip? Is Vienna relatively safe in regards to me traveling solo as a female! I've done lots of traveling abroad so have what i call "travelers common sense" and can figure my way around fairly well.
I am planning a trip to Bavaria and Austria for 10 days in March. I ran across an article about Kufstein and have been interested in exploring ever since. I was thinking of popping in for a day and 1/2 before heading on to Salzburg. My question is do you think this is enough time to take in the sites? What are two absolutely must sees? And, being a girl from Texas how cold should i prepare myself for?
I am very into dancing and would love to go dancing when I travel. I will go to Austria in Mid Spet for a week and looking for cancel dance night in the bar/club. I love dancing Ceroc (Modern Jive), tango and salsa. Also, I love street music and street art lots. Any recommendations of the dancing night and the place for street music and street arts? I am sure there is some neighourhood have some very interesting unique art atmosphere.
Thanks lots :):)
Hi, dear Austrians (and of course all others)!
My idea is, to visit Salzburg and Vienna in november 2016 for sightseeing. Also, i want to go to Bratislava in Slovakia, because it´s so close to Vienna. Therefore my question is: Are all the important places, like museums, castles and so on open in the last 2 weeks of november ? Are there restricted opening times ? Do city-sightseeing tours take place or is there a winter break ? When do christmas markets open ? And: Are there any time-consuming…
Hi All, I'll be traveling to Salzburg for one night in a few weeks and I'm wondering about suggestions of where to stay. I have not traveled to Austria before, does anyone have suggestions for a Youth Hostel/pension etc, inexpensive, but clean and nice and within walking distance of the train?
My questions looks vague, but there is no other place, where I can ask this. May be, people who travelled at both location should be able to advice me and help me to plan.
I have been taking vacation of 12 days in mid October and not able to decide, if I should pick one over other. My options are Germany+Austria and Japan. Flight fare and budget is almost same and weather is also not bad at either location, so these may not be decision factors.
I will not be going to such a big…
I am planning a 2 week summer holiday for my family in Austria but could use some advice. It is going to be a sightseeing/walking holiday and we are hoping to stay in 3 or 4 places, mainly in the countryside, but including a couple of nights in Vienna. Places we would definitely like to visit are:
Can anyone tell me where would be good to stay to visit these places, and is there anything we shouldn't miss.
I met Kate (I think thats her name) and her friend on Sunday, 28 August 2016. I was traveling from Washington, DC to Greece with an overnight layover at the Vienna Airport. They were returningt to Vienna from a 2-day trip to Berlin. We met at the train station. They took the time to provide me directions to a hotel and tourist spots. We did not exchange information, but believed we would meet again. She believed that people usually meet twice in a life time. It would be nice to meet her again…
I bought a eurail austria pass and will be using it to travel from Vienna to Salzburg. From Salzburg to Innsbruck and then again from Innsbruck back to Vienna. Do I need to reserve seats for this? Because I already paid quite a lot for the pass and reserving seats on these 3 routes will add significantly to the cost.
I'm planning an unexpectedly last minute trip (as in leaving in less than a week!) and feel woefully underprepared in terms of my itinerary/planning. Current plan is to fly into Budapest and spend several days, then train over to Vienna for two days and do an overnight trip to Salzburg. I've got an extra day to play with there.
I love cities and historical sites, but would love to take in some great Alpine views and a good hike. I'm young and in good shape but won't have time to do any sort of…
