Lonely Planet review for Afro Café
Afro Café This eye-catching African café ventures into Salzburg’s wackier waters. The retro design is pure genius: a blend of hot-pink walls, butterfly-shaped chairs, plastic palms and artworks sculpted from junk gathered on the beach. The menu takes some beating too – try the sticky ostrich kebabs or coconutty Zanzibar salad with Algiers ginger punch.

The Afro way of drinking Red Bull
beatingthetrack recommends this,
Knowing that this place is owned by the boss of Red Bull you would expect something outbursting, unique, absolutely crasy inside "Afro Café". I was a little bit disappointed when I popped in on a crowded Saturday night. The colourful walls and tables beam you into a really good mood - promised! Luckily we found a free table, as the "Afro Café" is rather tiny this was a kind of real success. We wanted to have some small warm food - gotten hungry during the night an heard of really interesting plates served there. But it took ages that a waitress turned up, just to tell us, that there is no food served after 10pm - I think it was 10pm. So we took a nice glass of wine and stayed hungry. Anyway they do serve excellent products and we tried to enjoy the funky music, the crowd, the cenery instead of eating.
On the hole the "Afro Café" is a funny place to be if you do not want something averige , if you want to meet people between 20-35 years old when going out and if you can stand all these colours. In case you are hungry go there during the day or early evening. On sunny days take your coffee outside on the small tables next to the boulevard like in french cafés.Good for: atmosphere, food, Solo Travellers
