    Lonely Planet review

Don't be fooled by the nondescript exterior. Belonging to the Kuhn family since 1912, the Bergland is ever so homely inside, with art (courtesy of the owner) on the walls, touches such as traditional Austrian hats and painted furnishings in the rooms, and a handsome piano room.

Our independent authors have visited Bergland Hotel and selected this as one of our recommended hotels in Salzburg.

    Description provided by property

Family-run since 1912, the non-smoking Bergland Hotel offers a quiet location in the centre of Salzburg, only a 10-minute walk from Mirabell Palace, the Congress Centre, and the main train station, and a 15-minute walk from the Old Town. Free WiFi is available.

The Bergland’s rooms are individually furnished and feature spacious bathrooms. They are decorated with paintings from the art-loving owner’s private collection, but also with some of his own works.

Breakfast is served in the historic breakfast room and consists of regional, organic, and fair trade products. Warm and cold drinks are served in the cosy music room until 21:30. An internet terminal can also be used by guests.
