Lonely Planet review
Contemporary design blends harmoniously with the original vaulting and beams of this 660-year-old hotel. Rooms are pure and simple, with clean lines, and lots of white and streamlined furnishings. The restaurant is well worth a visit.
Our independent authors have visited Arthotel Blaue Gans and selected this as one of our recommended hotels in Salzburg.

Situated along the famous Getreidegasse shopping street, Arthotel Blaue Gans is directly opposite the Festival Hall and just a few steps from Mozart’s Birthplace. The elegant, air-conditioned rooms at Hotel Blaue Gans all have satellite TV, a minibar, a safe, and a bathroom with hairdryer.
Surrounded by medieval stone walls, the restaurant serves traditional Austrian cuisine and Salzburg specialities. In summer, it includes a Mediterranean-style garden. In the Arthotel’s stylish bar, guests can relax in leather armchairs and enjoy fine wines and good music.
