Lonely Planet review for Jackson’s
Foodies flock to what is one of Perth’s top dining experiences: Neal Jackson’s tasting menu. À-la-carte highlights include seasonal specials – in winter, think gamey dishes of venison, rabbit and partridge.

Jacksons - The Long Haul
champagne_socialist recommends this,
If you had told me before visiting Jackson's that I could sit in a fine dining restaurant for just shy of 5 hours and not want to leave, I would have told you that I don't think both of your oars are in the water.
Well, ladies and gentlemen, I am here to testify, that Jackson's is not just the proud purveyor of the finest food this side of my mum's house, but also posesses a cadre of staff so personable, so well-informed and so thorough that they made a 9 course degustation menu an event.
If this all sounds to good to be true, like the hyperbole of a highly experienced politician or a dentist with a great big needle, I can honestly say, there is no surer bet than that the experience of dining at Jackson's will remind you why people will always pay top dollar for great food and wine.
With a selection of wines chosen specifically to compliment each course and expertly explained by the waitstaff, I found myself after the first few courses wishing that I had opted for the premium wine selection like my brother and his wife, who sampled a wine squeezed from grapes picked in 1946.
I'm not a snob, but a wine made from post-war grapes has got to be pretty damn special. It seemed appropriate that the night we visited Jackson's, a celestial event occured making the crescent moon, Venus and Mars appear as asmiling face in the sky. It was a fitting symbol for a night that left me with a fairly big cheesy grin on my face too.
