Lonely Planet review for Annalakshmi
While the 360-degree views of the Swan River are worth a million dollars, Annalakshmi is actually a vego curry house run by volunteers. Paying by donation, an eclectic mix of hippies, local and visiting Indians, and Perth families line up for spicy curries and fragrant dhal.

do not expect very welcoming behaviour from the staff
kaveriduttapathak does not recommend this,
food is okay...not so 'vow'' but the behaviour of the people volunteering is miserable. i went on saturday, Nov 13 with my family and the person giving dot sized appams would count one person....no consideration for age, sex, pregnant........i had 3 yr old boy with me and on asking one for him too made him so much upset. its a shame to Indian culture and they talk about VALUES.....!!! i invite them to my place and believe me THEY CAN REALLY EAT AS MUCH THEY WANT. I humbly request to improve their behaviour especially with Indians......no one comes their because we don't have food in our homes.....Please take care in the future...GOOD LUCK !

honesty is best policy and specially during recessions...
nypd recommends this,
This is your own place, you come , enjoy view, have food....No one asks you for bill...it is upto you....how much you pay....pay as you wish...and knowing people to be too good, atleast when good things are done by others....people don't hesitate to pay as much as they like....perfect place for perfect people.

Great experience
vegamon007 recommends this,
Annalakshmi does not have the best service in town, nor does it have spectacular food. But what it lacks in waiter/visitor ratio and culinary selection it makes up for in charm. Only volunteers work at Annalakshmi and the donation system instead of a fixed price make this buffet serving restaurant a little riverfront gem. Very recommendable!

Annalakshmi
lilpundie recommends this,
Food: Excellent, If you like traditional vegetarian Indian food
Ambience: It is relaxed, the views of the swan river are beautiful. The inside decor was plain on the day i went, however, the views of the swan river make up for it.Price: Donations are made for the food eaten, honesty is a virtue here.
Restrooms: Yes
Service: Not much interaction with diners - as it is a buffet style restaurant, however, if you have any questions the staff are quite obliging.
Bookings needed? No. But you have the option of making one if you want to secure a table.
Opening hours: Open for lunch and dinner
Tuesday - Sunday (Closed all day on Mondays)
Lunch: 12:00pm - 2:00pm (no lunch on Saturdays)
Dinner: 6:30pm - 9:00pmEasiest way to get there? Walk to the bell tower from the city. It is along riverside drive next to Barrack street jetty. Make your way upstairs and it is located in the middle of the development there on the foreshore. Overlooking the river
Overall: Food is traditional, and scrumptious.
