You won't want to sit in the chairs in this well-to-do business hotel. Nice though they are. You'll want to get into your robe, get down on the floor, and spend some time watching the city through the floor-to-ceiling porthole-like windows. These are the highlight.

The rooms, happily enough, are massive, modern and stylish: comfortable new beds, attractive linens, attention to detail. In the king executive rooms, built on the corners, you're surrounded by the massive, round-cornered windows - there's barely any wall here. It's all fun retro with a flash of 1970s California. Weekend leisure packages continue the escapist fantasy, jettisoning you off on a helicopter flight or hot-air balloon ride. And back down on earth, the light-filled CBD restaurant-bar busies itself with free-running Margaret River chardonnay and local deep-sea catches. Make sure you scamper up to the private club room for an early evening drink, just as the sun sets.
