Getting a working holiday visa and job

an opportunity recently came up for me to go on a work exchange program through my office to Australia. My girlfriend would be coming with me and would need to get a working holiday visa and a job.

I'm still not sure where I would be located in Australia but does anybody know how difficult it would be for her to get a job or what the job market is like?

We are both Canadian citizens and she has both serving experience and experience as an administrative assistant.
I assume getting a job as a…

Prodive the Outer Reef or Spirit of Freedom Ribbon Reefs

Diving the ribbon reefs on Spirit of Freedom is $1000 more than diving the outer great barrier reef with Prodive. Is it really that much more spectacular? Has anyone done both?

rental campervan insurance

Hi all
We rented a camper van from Jucy for about 40 days. Their comprehensive insurance rate is
quite high at $30 a day. Anyone knows a cheaper option? I've been looking for insurance from insurance companies, but they don't seem to have non-owner insurance policies.
Thanks!

What do they mean by more expensive than London, UK

Hi, again
I read in some of the threads in this forum that prices generally in Australia are likely to be higher than those in London. I find it a little hard to understand, considering London, UK, is one of the more expensive tourist destinations in the world.
Or is it that it is peak tourist season in Australia and therefore it is likely to be more expensive than the UK?
Also, for a backpacker staying at YHA hostels, is 100 AUD per day a reasonable allowance to make for this week and the…

Christmas in Oz from Sydney

Hi all,

My boyfriend and I have roughly a week, maybe longer to get out of Sydney for Christmas. We were thinking of hiring a car and stopping at a few different places along the way... We know we need to get booking!

Any thoughts or suggestions would be great, thanks!

Brisbane Transport

Hi, My sister is arriving into Brisbane on a cruise ship which docks at Fisherman Islands.
It seems that there is no public transport from there, and I want to meet her in the city.
Other than a taxi, does anyone know if there is a shuttle or anything?

Jetstar cuts cabin baggage allowance

Good- about time. Can't stand these people trying to bring on big bags as cabin luggage!

And they will have designated bag weighers at the airport..........

Carry on luggage

Has anyone noticed if Jetstar have tightened up as promised on the 7kg max for carry on luggage. I think it used to be 10Kg, and they said they would be getting stricter about it a few weeks ago.

Solo American Female to Oz on WHV!

Hey Everyone,

I am 26, from the states and looking to move to Australia in January through BUNAC's Work Australia Program.
I'm really excited to make this happen and would love any advice anyone has to share. I'm pushing for January, but hopefully no later than February. I have not exactly picked a city but I am leaning towards Sydney. I'm at a point in my life where I would like to do something different and be in a new place, meeting new people and exploring. So getting away from the states…
