Elba
Elba has taken its street name as inspiration and produced a slick little Napoleonic bar complete with sparkly chandeliers and a gilt-framed portrait of the little man. Come dressed for cocktails, although perhaps in flats out of deference. Napoleon St is one of the shopping streets running off the Stirling Hwy.

Brisbane
It was a very clever architect indeed who converted this classic corner pub (1898) into a thoroughly modern venue, where each space seamlessly blends into the next. Best of all is the large courtyard where the palms and ponds provide a balmy holiday feel.

Ironclad Hotel
This Hotel is a classic old pub that’s the heart and soul of Marble Bar, with well-used pool tables, a likeable beer garden and home-cooked counter meals (mains $7 to $19). The homemade pizzas are particularly well liked.

Devilles Pad Cabaret
The devil goes to Vegas in this extremely kooky venue, hidden in a quiet-by-night part of town. You're encouraged to dress up to match the exceedingly camp interiors (complete with erupting volcano). A lively roster of burlesque dancers, magicians, live bands and assorted sideshow freaks provides the entertainment.
