Briefly, traveling with 2 other guys. Land in Perth on a Tues afternoon; plan to be back there Thursday evening to meet other friends. We have an SUV and want to explore fun places around Perth. We are willing to drive 3-4 hours away easily. After doing research, I see 2 options:

1)Margaret River area and the beaches and national parks near there.

2)Nambung national park and Pinnacles forest.

Would only do one of those and stay in that area for those 2 nights. Anyone have thoughts on that…

I'm a carpenter from Vancouver looking to spend a year (or two) working in Newcastle, NSW. I will be travelling west coast from November until the new year, after which I will be looking for work in my field. Does anybody have any tips or info for me on what I need to do to be able to work? I've been told I need a "White Card" but I haven't found any straight-forward information on it. I already have a working holiday visa. Thanks in advance!

Hello

I will be travelling to Australia (Sydney and Melbourne) over Christmas. What are my cell phone coverage options in Australia?

The following info might be helpful:
- In US, I have Sprint service. Not sure if I can just swap out the SIM card or not
- While in Australia I will be driving from Sydney to Melbourne and back (some kind of GPS will be really good)
- My total stay will be less than 3 weeks
- I am not expecting to make calls to US, most of my calls will be within Australia – while…

I'm looking to see a bit more than the City of Sydney, and I'm looking for a 1 to 2 day road trip that will give me something epic to give me a small taste of Australia. I only have a week here, (Feb 3-10) and wants to see a bit more than a concrete centre. I have heard that Blue Mountain park is great.... anything else. I did want to go see the GBR, but, I don't think I can do this on this trip. I will be spending most of my time in NZ. Looking for some nature, waterfalls, beautiful…

Hey all,

I'm from the United States and am thinking about taking a year off to travel the world by starting in Australia in June. I'll have around $5,000-$6,000 USD saved up before going and want to stay there until around October. I'm hoping to use my time there to save up some more. Would I apply under the subclass 400 or 401? I would be okay with working in a small town to make money, any recommendations?

Hi fellow travellers
We are doing a road trip in a campervan for 7 nights later this week in the top end of Australia
– from 24 September
rough itinerary is:
KAKADU NP – 3 nts
NITMILUK NP – 2 nts
LITCHFIELD NP – 2 nts

We have just realised that we are bang at the start of school holidays!!
-so are conscious of being overrun etc.
As fellow independent travelers we do like to get away from the maddening crowd and off the well-worn track.

Would appreciate any insights as to how to mitigate the crowd…
