My sister and I will be backpacking through Australia this July and August, and are planning to visit Fraser Island and the Whitsundays. Do you think we need to book ahead? We'd probably like to do 2d/2n tours for each place. We'd like one of the cheaper tours, since we're backpacking.
about 6 months ago I spent a few hours at the ED of an Australian hospital. I was told the invoice would be sent to my home address in Europe - which i provided.
How much time does it take in general for hospitals to send their invoices?
Where I live, it can take up to one year, and I wonder what it's like in Australia. Or perhaps it strongly depends on which hospital you go to? Does anyone know, esp experiences with invoices sent abroad are appreciated. I can't seem to find any…
I will be in Australia on the WHV for a year starting in late August.
Although I want to be quite free and loose about where'll go, I want to build a rough itinerary as not every place is good to go at every time of the year.
This is my "plan" (or rather what I want to do where) so far: (no specific order, and it doesn't really include the "work part")
- Nidaloo Marine Park: diving or snorkeling (better summer?), Whale watching or diving with them (whale sharks/ hunchbacks, March - July)…
We will be in Sydney during New Years Eve and staying at the Sheraton on the Park. Wondering if you have any suggestions on the best way to see the fireworks. I don't mind paying a chunk of money to be on a boat or something but no idea what tour companies are the most reputable or if it's better to just do it on the ground ... any thoughts?
I am hoping to do a week on a liveaboard diving the Rowley Shoals in October this year (it is a very short diving season). Part of me wants to spend a few days in Perth and bum around Exmouth for a few days to do more diving and snorkeling but the more I see about what WA has to offer, the more I realize I just can't miss the other amazing sites like Karijini National Park! I will have limited time though and see there are several tour operators that do 9-10 days overland from Perth…
We are planning a two month trip through NWT and QLD. I am chatting with a company called DISCOVERY CAMPERVANS AUSTRALIA. The say they are a booking agent for Britz. Has anyone heard of them? Are they legitimate? Does Australia have something like our better business bureau to which we can go to check if they are a scam operation?
I know there are no "guarantees", but in general, what will the weather be? I've heard that it can be so wet/stormy it's hardly worth being there. Is that true?
Would it be safer to schedule time in the southern barrier reef area? or the northern?
We would like to be at a single location -- i.e. island -- for 5-7 days for snorkeling, exploring, and R&R. If it's ok to be in the Great Barrier Reef at that time, which location would you recommend?
I'm not sure if that's something to ask in a travel forum but as I will be in Australia for quite a long time I'm wondering whether Doctor Who is quite popular in Australia as well or not at all. I would like to visit some Doctor Who spots if there are any and maybe meet up with some fellow Whovians. Do you know any places to go? Or is it hardly recognised in Oz?
I've posted on this forum a few times before and have had some great advise from you all, so was hoping if I could get some more help/tips :)
I am leaving London to come to Australia on November 1st, flying into Sydney.
I have booked 5 nights stay in Sydney so that I can look around before moving on. My plan is to travel the East Coast up to Cairns, enjoying all of the sights and National Parks along the way :).
I am thinking of giving myself 6-8 weeks to do this, I will have funds…
