I have a question regarding visas.
I just returned home to the US from living in Canada where I obtained a 3-year student visa. I ended up dropping out of school after a year, so I still have a year or two left on my student visa. I am currently looking into moving to Australia in January of this year, specifically applying for the year work/holiday visa, but my Canadian visa will not be expired by that time.
My first question is, will I be able to apply and potentially hold two visas for both…

Hello Thorn Tree Forum
I am 22 years old female, who is thinking about travelling to Australia next year mid March time. My plan would be to travel up and along the East coast for at least 6 weeks, starting in Sydney ending in Cairns. Any tips/advise on how to make this trip amazing but also safe? Anybody heading out there at the same time?
Look forward to hearing back!
My brother's visa and his family was approved by U.S. Immigration. American Embassy in Australia is holding the visa as they require a police certificate on 11 year old girl but they did not require a police certificate on 13 year old boy. Australian police do not issue police certificate on minors. Please help!
I'm heading to Cairns in mid-August, and would like to get my three months regional work out of the way straight away - does anybody know any good/reliable working hostels down the coast between Cairns and Brisbane?
Also, I've heard from two different people, that the rules for getting the second year of the working visa (417) has changed recently (last six months), at least for British passport holders, and we no longer have to do the three months/88 days regional work. I can't find…

I'm currently looking into going to Australia for a year starting from January 2016.
I'm going to be starting either in Perth or Melbourne and I'm looking at going to as many places as possible in Oz (South Australia, New South Wales and Queensland) and anywhere in between!!
I'm looking for any advice or tips on how easy it is to travel alone, how easy it is to get work and the best way to get travel from place to place on the lowest budget.
Hello - omw to Australia after spending the last month in Philippines. I'm arriving Sydney and working my way up the E Coast. I plan on heading to Darwin in mid-August then taking the Ghan to Alice Springs to head to Ayers Rock. From there to Melbourne and then heading back up to Sydney before flying out mid-September. That's my skeleton itinerary. Oh, I'm also spending a day at Splendour in the Grass music festival in late July in Byron Bay.
I'm looking for travel partners to share…
We are planning to travel the Gibb River Road one way and on the Highway (through Halls Creek) the other way, starting and ending in Broome. Is there any difference if we start to go by highway and return by the GRR, rather than doing this the other way round? We plan also to visit Purnululu NP and Mornington Wilderness Camp on the way.
Many thanks for your views,
