Lonely Planet review for Sirens
Sirens is Hobart’s best vegetarian restaurant and does creative cuisine that’s much more than just tofu and lentils – try the three-cheese beetroot ravioli in champagne, dill and pink peppercorn cream. The service is excellent and the space is warm, welcoming and full of exotic aromas and happy diners.

Vegehaven!
scottishsponger recommends this,
With a limited choice of vegetarian/vegan eateries in Hobart, particularly those you could take your date to for a romantic meal, this surreal and unique gourmet experience in the centre of the city is a true gem in Tassie's culinary crown. It was a real sanctuary for my partner and I when we lived in Hobart and the dishes on the menu were always interesting and diverse. Our favourite was the Smoked Tofu with beanshoots and asparagus, followed by Rose water cookies (All Vegan, of course!) for dessert. The Middle Eastern theme coupled with the exotic vegetarian dishes creates a feeling of an oasis, where those overwhelmed by the steak and fish-saturated State, can escape for some Vego indulgence. There's also a great selection of beer and wine and luscious cakes on offer, to compliment the experience. Arguably one of the best restaurants in Tassie.

we wanted to like it....but
muddy99 recommends this,
when the sign says "open 5.30pm" and you walk in at 6pm to be told "we're not ready" you start to wonder. We'd booked by phone, but they'd managed to lose it. Ok, maybe week night's aren't their strong point. The fabled 3-cheese beetroot ravioli wasnt on the menu. A couple of other things that were on the menu weren't actually available that night (eg, the japanese broth thingy). The food was too tricky by half...some flavours just didnt work (white beans in saffron cashew sauce had a strange vinegar aftertaste). It was the simple things that worked really well - like home made pitta bread & dips, and fabulous roasted pink-eye potatoes.
