Lonely Planet review for Mures

Mures is the name in Hobart seafood with its own fishing fleet serving this restaurant as well as local markets. On the ground level is the fishmonger, a sushi bar, an ice-cream parlour and the hectic, family-focused bistro Lower Deck (mains $7 to $13), serving fish and chips and salmon burgers to the masses. The Upper Deck (mains $20 to $28) is a sassier affair, with expansive dockside views and à la carte seafood dishes.

    "Fish to Fry For!"

    silver60 recommends this,

Mures is 'THE' fish restaurant in Tasmania. Excellent fish chowder, great selection of fish beautifully cooked and the cheese plate to beat all others - can be shared - large portions. All enjoyed with fine wine and beautiful views over the harbour. Service was not so good but we did go on the night of the Australian elections and their minds were on things other than the food!

Fish and Chips beside the water, how good can it get. There are tables inside and out. The fish 'n chips are great value and quick service. Casual dining.

    GO SASSY!

    muddy99 recommends this,

when you've just crawled out of the south west after 10 days of battling horizontal scrub, rising rivers and a zillion leeches, fishNchips for the masses isnt going to cut it. Do yourself a favour - have a shower, put on your least smelly clothes, and head upstairs at Mures for a well-deserved feast. Order a bottle (each) of fine wine, get some oysters and contemplate which fish to blow all those $$$ you just saved by staying in a skanky backpackers.
