Lonely Planet review for Fish Frenzy
This casual place at a great location on Elizabeth Pier has a slightly upmarket take on the humble fish and chip, and keeps bringing us back for its waterfront outdoor tables, seafood platters, fishy salads (spicy calamari, smoked salmon and brie), wine by the glass and perky service. The eponymous ‘Fish Frenzy’ ($16) delivers a bit of everything. It’s ridiculously popular, but doesn’t take bookings.

My review of Fish Frenzy. Arrogant staff, small fish.
fishingfrenzy does not recommend this,
My review of Fish Frenzy. Arrogant staff and one senior staff embarrassed the wife in front of customers. Bite size piece of fish for $17. And you have to pay extra for chips. Summary: a glorified takeaway shop but with restaurant prices.
Good for: Nothing

It's fish & chips - not sure what all the fuss is about!
diarmuidr does not recommend this,
We went, on advice from LP and the concierge at the Henry Jones. We wanted good seafood - we got fish and chips in a cone. Nothing bad about it, but nothing outstanding either. Service is efficient self service. Had a much better meal the following night at Smolt in Salamanca Square, had infinitely better fish and chips in St Helens later in our holiday. However, interesting mix of people - tourists, locals and visiting business people plus nice harbour views redeemed the experience somewhat.

Fish Frenzy best seafood in Hobart!!
tarsh97 recommends this,
Simply the best seafood in all of Hobart. The food is fresh and tasty and always served quickly. With an amazing waterfront location close to town this is the ideal place for a quick lunch but even better for an extended meal, especially with a glass (or two) of one of the fine selection of Tasmanian wines.

Tassie gourmet in a paper cone
pandora1981 recommends this,
Someone once said that anything tastes good eaten by the sea. That person must have been from Hobart.
I head straight to Fish Frenzy every time I'm there for fish and chips. Here, the servings are massive in paper cones - real potato chips and fish battered to perfection - classically English-style, with that distinct Australian freshness. Make that Tasmanian freshness.
Don't forget to order a dozen oysters to taste the Tassie sea. A glass of local drop with the sun setting over Mount Wellington - and you're in foodie heaven.
