The coolest progeny of Sydney’s recent tapas explosion, Bodega has a casual vibe, good-lookin’ staff and a retro-funky matador mural. Tapas dishes vary widely in size and price, from spiced pumpkin and feta empanadas to hefty slabs of seared salmon with tahini and pickled cucumber. Wash ’em down with Hispanic wine, sherry, port or beer and plenty of Mediterranean gusto.

    Bodacious Bodega!!!

    One worries about how pretentious a restaurant will be in Sydney when:

    1. The restaurant doesn't take reservations;
    2: You have to queue for a table and
    3: The restaurant is located in fashionable Surry Hills.

    Bodega blows a big, sweet tasting raspberry at this, the usual perception of funky, Sydney boutique eating establishments.

    From the warm Rockabilly-esque reception at the door to the enthusiastic staff always happy to help you choose your tapas, Bodega makes you feel more than welcome. You don't want to leave!

    It's funky, it's Madrid, it's Memphis, it's tapas at it's best all rolled into one.

    It ain't cheap but it won't break the bank either. Get there early, on a week day, to get your spot to watch, eat and drink in the action. If you do have to wait, the team will look after you with a drink or four in the adjoining tapas bar.

    Bodega takes a bit from here and a touch from there making it a symbolic of what Sydney does best - a mish mash of everything that is lip smacking good!
