Lonely Planet review for Mohr Fish
Teutonic Iron Chef Hans Mohr started this fishy takeaway decades ago, plating up fancy fish and chips with Euro stylings. The interior is more East End London eel-and-mash shop than hip Sydney, but the food is brilliant: don’t miss the prawn-and-fish dumplings with chilli soy sauce.

Funkyyyy enjoyable experience - and great seafood

Guy at front of house is a wizard. Friendly, helpful and highly efficient. Lets face it the place is small, seats about 25 - there is no showbiz here - but its an good experience for travellers and for seafood lovers. Its unlicensed but the pub 10 metres away is a good place to meet some of the Surrey Hills locals, have a beer and buy a bottle of wine to take the 10 metres back to Mohr Fish. We had the bbq barramundi and the fried squid ( have the cooks tartare sauce). No bookings, we (2)) were early. This is not Doyles at the Quay but its better in a simple way. Live a little.

more and more...

The best value and taste fish cafe in Sydney. A tall claim, but I've tried a lot. Always fresh and there are about 5 choices. The boullibaisse is the best I've tried by far and a small serving which is quite big is only $15. Most dishes are under $25 which include bread, chips/potatoes and vegetables. You can buy a drink from the pub across the road to save on cash. It's small and cramped but friendly and quick.

best fish in sydney
muddy99 recommends this,
without a doubt some of the best fish in sydney - pick your fish, pick your sauce...get some nice sides... the kingfish is awesome, the barra always good. And it's away from the tourist beat.
