Lonely Planet review for Blue Orange
A fave with Hall St regulars and travellers alike, Blue Orange has a casual, sandy vibe and a silly name, belying its delicate, complex cooking. Start with the blue cheese and walnut brûlée, then savour the slow-cooked Flinders Island lamb with roasted eggplant, fetta and mint. Divine.

Sharing dessert
stuckinsydney recommends this,
I recently moved to Hall Street and walked past Blue Orange a number of times without paying it much notice, it looks much like any run of the mill Bondi cafe.
I found myself there late one evening last week as at that hour (almost 11) most of the other places had closed, we asked if coffee and dessert was still an option.
"Of course"
It was obvious that most of the other customers had been there most of the night and were quietly enjoying passing the time in this relaxed, unpretentious and comfortable restaurant.
Even more obvious that they had stuck around because the food was bloody good.
I should actually mention that we only had two coffees and a dessert (Almond Pana Cotta)
This was one of those shared desserts that neither of us really wanted to share, it was so light, sweet and tasty that we were close to licking the bowl, before that there was one of those awkward moments where both of us were wanting the last bite.
I am dying to go back for a full meal there. Although the service and staff completely lack the stiff pretentiousness that can often be found in French style restaurants, the food in this place is absolutely worth a fuss.
