Expect Mediterranean cuisine perfectly executed by chef Andy Ball in dramatic surrounds - space, views, elegance and pizzazz; very Sydney. For a more relaxed meal, the cool and casual bar is perfect for an after-work bite or a late-night supper.

    Relaxing lunch under pepper trees

    You have to love a top Sydney restaurant which offers a reasonable lunch menu for those of us who like to partake in the finer things but can't always afford them.

    Sitting out on a deck looking out across the harbour, up above the foundations of one of the first houses in Sydney and under the shade of the soft foliage of peppertrees, you can almost forget you are there to eat and not just to sit back in a harbour breeze and listen to the world hustle by.

    The set menu on Thursdays and Fridays offers three seasonal choices for each meal. The service is professional, knowledgable and friendly but not overbearing. The food is the right combination of fresh and tasty, upmarket and familiar, and Australian and European.

    Bel Mondo is the perfect place for lunch with a close friend on a sneaky day off, or to impress an overseas visitor. The food, service and atmosphere are a lovely treat without breaking the bank.
