Lonely Planet review for Jones the Grocer

Bob the Builder, Jones the Grocer – some things just make sense. JtG offers high-end groceries, cookbooks and gourmet goodies galore. Munch into a caramel slice with a serious coffee at the cafe, then double-wrap some double brie and hotfoot it to Centennial Park for a picnic.

Overheard at Jones the Grocer communal table....

    ms_mim recommends this,

Lady who lunches 1: My husband is threatening to chop up my Amex platinum. The economic crisis you know...

Lady who lunches 2: Darling all you need to do is stop buying the Fromage de Meaux. King Island Black Label is just as good.

Don't choke on your organic macchiato just yet. Not until you've toured the fromagerie at Jones the Grocer's flagship store. Stocking the best in imported and Australian speciality cheeses, ripe and ready to go, this humidity controlled walk-in cheese room is the place to come if you know your Cornish Yarg from your Bavarian Blue...or you would like to.

For the sweet tooth, the signature fudge is sublime, plus there are rows of colourful boiled lollies and enough overpriced pastries and tarts that the Woollahra domestic goddess need never bake again.

Can't decide between the pistachio and walnut nougat? Taste test all the ingredients off the shelves in the onsite cafe.
