Lonely Planet review for Blue Water Café
The huge portions are a major drawcard at this bustling beach café adorned with surfboards. Choose between pasta, burgers, wraps, pide and grills, mostly under around A$20 but up to around A$29 for a juicy sirloin.

A must-try at Manly
jonuk85 recommends this,
It can be hard to find a good value place to sit down and eat in Sydney, so when you find one it's a satisfying feeling. Unlike the other beachside restaurants at Manly, Blue Water provides great food at a great price.
Very tasty pasta dishes for around $15-20, they come in large portions with amazing dressings.
An excellent wine list, I recommend the Sauvignon Semillon Blanc, only $7 a glass.
Service was quick, polite and friendly.
The atmosphere was relaxed, the Cafe being opposite the beach. You can sit there enjoying your meal whilst watching the surfers and swimmers.
With it's open style seating and welcoming manner Blue Water is great for a quick lunch or a romantic dinner. They call it Blue Water Cafe but it could just as easily be Blue Water Restaurant; Gordon Ramsey would be proud of this place.

Sun, Surf & Steak
melfrommanly recommends this,
Manly is Sydney in summer. Its hot. Your feet burn crossing the sand, you smell of salt and you have that glorious feeling of sand between your toes. You are also starving, surfing is hard work and your have been in for a few hours. Manly Beach is the perfect summer hangout and one of Sydney's must see beaches. if your staying in the CBD, its just a 30 min ferry ride and you can play here all day and night. The best way to enjoy Manly is to stay here for a week or so.
Bluewater Cafe is right across from the beach. Between two of the main lifesaver areas. There is eye candy around, you can sit with a beer or wine and overlook the beach and slowly read thru the menu. There are heaps of options, the wraps are great for something light, especially if you are planning to get back on your surfboard. but after a morning surf, you cant beat the steak. As a former vegetarian, even i like the steak here! it is cooked to perfection and the chips are pretty good here as well.
Its great for dinner, but i love this place for a lazy, late lunch after a morning at the beach. It sits on one of the prettiest beaches in the world, has yummy food and i have never had a bad experience here. And after you have finished, walk around to Shelly Beach, off to the right of Manly Beach and go snorkeling. Thats my ideal day in Manly- with the sun, surf and a steak at Bluewater.
