Harry's Cafe de Wheels

Line up with loads of other punters,  order your pie or hot dog with all of the trimmings or as few as you like, pay no more than $6 usually. Park your bum on one of the low wooden benches & enjoy a Million Dollar View of Sydney Harbour complete with seagulls, a real aussie touch!
I LOVE the Seafood Pie which is chock full or fish, prawns & scallops in a yummy mornay sauce, wrapped in buttery pastry.  When I am feeling really pecky or extravagant  I top this little beauty with Mash & Cheese Sauce, Divine. A vegie tiger is pretty hard to pass up as well!
A must visit for all visitors to Sydney!

With their mouth-watering pies and overly-huge hotdogs, you won't be at all disappointed with Harry's Cafe de Wheels! It's been at the docks for forever now, and is definitely a pit-stop whenever I go by Woolloomooloo. For pie enthusiasts, you cannot go wrong with 'The Tiger' - the pie with lean beef, mash, peas and gravy - and for the hot dog lovers, the hot dog with peas, onions and cheese sauce (with blazing chilli for those who love a little bit of spice) is just the perfect way to start or end a day! The few drawbacks would be the swooping seagulls that seem to take permanent scavenging residence there and the occasional lack of seats on a cold day. After all, standing and eating a hot and gravy-dripping pie is no easy feat!

Harry’s Café de Wheels has been a "Pit Stop" for us responsible Motoring Enthusiasts for many decades now, a must do on Friday and Saturday nights. Besides the wonderful friendly staff throughout the many years, the Hot Dogs have always been my personal favourite, if you like quality Meat Pies then you won't be disappointed with the Pie selection with a massive selection of toppings to add, may it be Potato Mash, Peas, Gravy or just Tomato Sauce. Overtime there have been some ascetical changes to Harry’s Café de Wheels, although the history and memories still remains, the photographs and the signings by various Australian and International Celebrates whom have visited in the past whom are sharing their memories of their visit to Harry’s Café de Wheels with us, may it be on heaven or on earth.

You have to have a big mouth to bite a hot dog and get the taste of hot dog and the sides together. In Harry's Cafe de Wheels, you can't still get a big bite but the sides are great even without the hot dog! I deeply recommend the hot dog with chili con carne, cheese and other beautiful ingredients as you like and eating them with the view of Russell Crowe's apartment in the sea (you can't see inside though!)

You just have to try it! There's nothing as quintessentially Sydney as one of Harry's pies with mushy peas and runny tomato sauce running over your hands as you rapidly try to eat it at these docks.
