The James Craig is a hulking, black, three-masted iron barque built in Sunderland, England in 1874. Abandoned in Tasmania in the ’30s, she was floated to Sydney and restored in the ’70s. Tall-ship tours beyond the Heads on the open ocean swell cost adult/child $205/120, including lunch, morning or afternoon tea and a sea shanty or three. The JC sails most weekends (either Saturday or Sunday); bookings essential.
