Lonely Planet review for Ying Chow
This fluoro-lit, utilitarian eatery is a culinary gem; serving cuisine styled from the Guangzhou region, such as crispy salt-and-pepper squid and steamed duck with salty sauce. It gets packed – with queues out the door – but it’s well worth the wait.

The best Chinese restaurant in Adelaide
nigelbruer recommends this,
Simply the best Chinese restaurant in Adelaide. Cheap and open late. Try the BBC (Broad beans, Bean curd and Chinese chutney) - one of the best dishes on Gouger Street!

Adelaide institution
goosebumps recommends this,
A small shop frontage opens way to a cluttered and somewhat disorganised 'Western Chinese' looking restaurant. Not being able to be heard from across the table from your guests adds to the atmosphere.
A photo copied menu offers the best 'authentic' Chinese food in Adelaide. Having won many awards and proclaimed by hospitality insiders as the best cheap eat and authentic Chinese going round, Ying Chow restaurant is an Adelaide institution loved by many.
Chefs choice include aniseed tea duck, mapo (granny's) bean curd, yue shang (fish flavoured) eggplant and broad bean, tofu and chutney (BBC) amongst others. No matter how may times you go there, something new never ceases to amaze.
Although open past midnight (quite rare for Adelaide), Ying Chow is always booked out and hard to get a seat. Avoid standing around for hours and make a booking
