  12. B

    Larcombe's Bar Grill

Very much a hotel restaurant, Larcombe's is just a tad too brightly lit to be truly intimate, but it's still the place of choice for spruced-up locals on a romantic date. The menu has a Mod Oz sensibility, gainfully plundering French, Italian and Chinese styles.

  13. Sandilands

This elegant manor’s imposing facade suggests stiff sophistication, but it’s a relaxed fine-dining choice. Steak and seafood is the speciality, but vegetarians are well catered for here with stir-fry, pasta and risotto dishes.

  14. Grand Ridge Brewery & Restaurant

The only community of any size along the Grand Ridge Rd is the pretty township of Mirboo North, home to Gippsland’s only brewery, the award-winning Grand Ridge Brewery & Restaurant producing chemical- and preservative-free beer. The restaurant food is fresh and prepared from local produce, including steaks from the local beef farm. Vegetarians are catered for too – try the slow-cooked lentil curry, cooked from scratch each time.
