Tour description provided by G Adventures

You can get a sense of just how huge Australia is by looking at a map, but once you’re there, the vastness really hits home. For travellers long on ambition but short on time, this extensive and compact journey up the East Coast of Queensland is nothing short of ideal. Employing a diverse range of transport – yachts, trains, 4x4s, and buses – you’ll visit Fraser Island and the Whitsundays, go snorkelling and camp out under the stars in an authentic Australian "swag." Your time here may not last long, but your memories will last forever.

Itinerary

Day 1 Brisbane
Arrive in Brisbane at any time. There are no planned activities during the day, so check into the hotel and explore the city. If you arrive early enough, you'll have time to head into the city to visit City Hall, the Treasury Building or relax on Streets Beach. Included Activities: Arrival Day and Welcome Meeting
Day 2 Brisbane/Fraser Island (1B, 1L)
Once on the island, enjoy a 4x4 tour of Fraser Island, driving along over 100km of beach. Go for a swim in Lake McKenzie, and enjoy a rainforest walk along the way. Additional Notes: While on Fraser Island and the Noosa Everglades, main luggage will be stored in a secure storage facility. Each person will need to pack a bag for two nights with max weight of 5kg. This is due to luggage capacity restrictions in 4x4 vehicles and canoes. Your CEO will explain further details on arrival into Rainbow Beach. Depending on the day of the week, some groups may swap the order of the Fraser Island and Noosa Everglades days. Some groups will first travel to the Noosa Everglades for a night before travelling on to Fraser Island. All inclusions will still be offered but just in a different order. Transport: Private Vehicle (5.00 hour(s), 250km) Ferry

Catch a train up the 'Capricorn Coast' which is well-known as 'Cattle Country'. Arrive at a remote farm and stay the night. The workers from the property are excellent hosts as they teach about the history of the farm, the cattle industry, and some of the challenges of raising cattle in such a harsh environment. Transport: Train (6.00-8.00 hours)
Day 5 Rockhampton/Whitsunday Islands (1B, 1D)
After a traditional Outback-style breakfast, transfer to the town of Airlie Beach and embark on a maxi yacht which will be our home for the next three days.
