I'm a carpenter from Vancouver looking to spend a year (or two) working in Newcastle, NSW. I will be travelling west coast from November until the new year, after which I will be looking for work in my field. Does anybody have any tips or info for me on what I need to do to be able to work? I've been told I need a "White Card" but I haven't found any straight-forward information on it. I already have a working holiday visa. Thanks in advance!
I will be travelling to Australia (Sydney and Melbourne) over Christmas. What are my cell phone coverage options in Australia?
The following info might be helpful:
- In US, I have Sprint service. Not sure if I can just swap out the SIM card or not
- While in Australia I will be driving from Sydney to Melbourne and back (some kind of GPS will be really good)
- My total stay will be less than 3 weeks
- I am not expecting to make calls to US, most of my calls will be within Australia – while…
I'm looking to see a bit more than the City of Sydney, and I'm looking for a 1 to 2 day road trip that will give me something epic to give me a small taste of Australia. I only have a week here, (Feb 3-10) and wants to see a bit more than a concrete centre. I have heard that Blue Mountain park is great.... anything else. I did want to go see the GBR, but, I don't think I can do this on this trip. I will be spending most of my time in NZ. Looking for some nature, waterfalls, beautiful…
My family and I will be visiting Sydney over the Christmas break. Any suggestions on must see places in Sydney, which are not that expensive.
We will be traveling with a 9 year old :)
Thank you in advance …
I'm from the United States and am thinking about taking a year off to travel the world by starting in Australia in June. I'll have around $5,000-$6,000 USD saved up before going and want to stay there until around October. I'm hoping to use my time there to save up some more. Would I apply under the subclass 400 or 401? I would be okay with working in a small town to make money, any recommendations?
I'm from Brazil and i wanna get some partners with same goals.
I have start planning a trip to Australia to improve my English language skills and get some hospitality job.
Anyone with same goals?
Melbourne would be nice.
Tips would be welcomed?
Hi fellow travellers
We are doing a road trip in a campervan for 7 nights later this week in the top end of Australia
– from 24 September
rough itinerary is:
KAKADU NP – 3 nts
NITMILUK NP – 2 nts
LITCHFIELD NP – 2 nts
We have just realised that we are bang at the start of school holidays!!
-so are conscious of being overrun etc.
As fellow independent travelers we do like to get away from the maddening crowd and off the well-worn track.
Would appreciate any insights as to how to mitigate the crowd…
We are planning our gap year and we are thinking about going to Australia first for 2 months and we are looking to buy/rent a camper van - does anyone have one/ recommend a good company! There are 4 of us and thinking of going mid February - mid April.
