We are visiting Thursday Island next year on a cruise ship. Do we really need to pay the extortionate price the cruise line wants for a tour or is the island small enough to do on one's own?
I'm going to Sydney in December and was wondering where the best place to get gelato is. My friend told me that the city is great for gelato, but she couldn't remember the names of her favourite places. Thanks.
Hey, Can anyone give me some idea of what is available flight wise during the STA sale? Looking to book flights to Sydney for January 2017 and wondering if it's worth my while waiting for their sale or if i'm better off just to book now? Anyone who has booked during the Jan sale please get in touch and let me know a rough price that would be great! Thank you :)
Anyone on Sydney at the moment who can help me with current weather? I'm arriving to Sydney in a little more than a week, and everywhere I check, temperatures seems to be a mere 15-18 degrees Celsius . Is it cold? Any chance for beach weather over the next 2 weeks (not considering ocean temperatures)?

I'm thinking about going to Melbourne sometime in the first quarter of next year. Although my knowledge of cricket is near zero, I'd like to see a cricket match in Melbourne Cricket Ground.
From what I've been able to determine, it appears that two teams play there - the Bushrangers and the Stars. But they don't seem to have many matches. The only home match for the Bushrangers is a four day affair beginning February 1. The Stars have matches on January 10, 17 and 21, all of which fall during…
We will be in Sydney for three months (Nov, Dec and Jan). In those three months, we are considering taking two road trips outside the area within 4 hours of diving distance. These side trips will be for three nights or so. We will probably stay at an Airbnb (no camping). What places do you recommend?
We are interested in: nice towns, fishing villages, board-walking, nature, hiking, driving around etc.
I am moving very soon to Melbourne to work as fellow researcher at Monash University (Clayton campus) and I am trying to choose a nice neighborhood to live. I am looking for a house/unit to rent.
I would like to live in a safe place, with some shops and restaurants, good transports to the Clayton campus and city center and not far from the beach.
I was thinking of Brighton, Caulfield or Ormond. Do you recommend any of these?
Thank you all in advance,
with my boyfriend we are travelling for 2 weeks at the beginning of January. We plan to spend 4 days in Sydney, 2 or 3 full days in Cairns and then visit Melbourne, Phillip island, Port Campbell and Grampians Park. How many days do we need in Cairns? What would you reccomend as day trips nearby? We are not into crazy adventure but we want to see the reef and explore the surroundings.
Thanks for any tips that you can share with us!
