About 16km east of Bundaberg, the small beach hamlet of Bargara has good diving and snorkelling at Barolin Rocks and in the Woongarra Marine Park. Bundaberg Aqua Scuba offers four-day, PADI open-water diving courses for $219, but this only includes shore dives. Advanced open-water dive courses cost from $265.

    Diving paradise

    3 of us headed to Aqua Scuba to dive. 1 was doing open water, another was free diving, while i was doing my advanced open water course. Julien the instructor there was very friendly and flexible to what you could and wanted to do. We ended up doing shore dives and a trip to Lady Musgrave, where we met more of the Aqua Scuba team.
    This shop is highly recommended especially with their friendly service and the dive masters intern they had there were really helpful.

    Good for: diving, meeting people, Padi, SSI, Great Barrier Reef, beginners or advanced

    Amazing experience!

    We went to Bundaberg's Aqua Scuba dive center to get our SSI open water dive certification. We had such a great time! Everyone at the center was so nice and helpful. The instructor (Dagma) made you feel comfortable and safe in the water. The course was done in a small group with lots of individual attention. It was set up so others who were doing their dive master program were on hand and in the water assisting us. On the last day we were taken out to lady musgrave on the GBR where there was lots to see and lunch, morning and afternoon tea were provided.
    I would certainly recommend this center. It was so well organized and we had an amazing time and met a lot of great people :D
