Lonely Planet review for Gunshop Café
West End’s gourmet breakfast specialists churn out potato-feta hash browns by the hundreds, particularly on weekends when this upmarket retro place is crammed. How about vodka cured ocean trout with poached eggs? There’s great coffee, and a range of tasty beers and wines to wash it all down.

On target for great breakfasts
nanday recommends this,
The Gunshop Cafe has one of the most interesting menus in the West End of Brisbane and the atmosphere of this converted old shopfront spills out onto the street, where you can linger over a great breakfast and watch the eclectic world go by. However, there is no air conditioning and expect to feel bit crowded when it gets busy as space is well utiised.. You can easily overhear conversations on either side, so if you want somewhere to discuss something private, this isn't the place. By lunchtime the breakfast afficionados are gone and it bustles with the lunch-hour crowd spilling out from the surrounding businesses. The service isn't always lightning fast, but the food has always been worth the wait and afterwards I recommend a leisurely walk along Boundary Street to burn the calories and soak up the multi-cultural vibes of one of Brisbane's most unique suburbs.
