Lonely Planet review for Customs House Brasserie

Few restaurants in Brisbane have open-air settings quite like the majestic Customs House, overlooking the Brisbane River and Story Bridge. The Queensland prawn and crab tian with roasted tomato and avocado, and the seared scallops are divine options. Go on, splash out.

Customs House - A Good Place To Splurge Out In Brisbane

    abianco recommends this,

The Customs House Brasserie is located on the Brisbane River, and is actually a facility of the University of Queensland. The restuarant is housed in a heritage listed building - one of the few that managed to survive some previously shonky town planning laws. It's worth devouring a meal here at either lunch or dinner, as different perspectives and atmospheres are produced regarding the spectacular views of the river. The food has an international flavour, and I've especially enjoyed the veal scallopine and lamb rack dishes. Don't come here too casual though - board shorts and thongs won't cut it! But it's not too high-browed either. I'd take that someone special here on a night out, but book early - Friday and Saturday nights are usually booked out. The venue is fully licenced and there is a comprehensive wine list to choose from.
