Fusion restaurants in Brisbane

  1. A

    Customs House Brasserie

Few restaurants in Brisbane have open-air settings quite like the majestic Customs House, overlooking the Brisbane River and Story Bridge. The Queensland prawn and crab tian with roasted tomato and avocado, and the seared scallops are divine options. Go on, splash out.

  2. B

    Tukka

If you don’t mind eating animals that are on Australia’s coat of arms, this upmarket restaurant serves them up with flair. Emu and kangaroo fillet are mains, or for something lighter, chow down on the Tasmanian possum entrée. Tried crocodile? Here’s your chance.

  3. C

    Garuva

Garuva's rainforested foyer leads to tables with cushioned seating concealed by silk curtains. There's a rather Arabian Nights feel to the place, with dim lighting, loungey beats and subdued banter (more raucous on weekends). Plates are meant for sharing and lean toward Asian fusion – sweet-potato and bean curry, warm Thai beef salad, coconut prawns. Hunt out the cool, hidden cocktail bar.

  4. D

    Café San Marco

Food and service matter little with a riverside location this good. If the food still matters, go for the rare peppered salmon with polenta crisp or the lemon peppered calamari. Smashing city views, too.
