It's 5.30pm on a Friday afternoon and as I count down the seconds until the beginning of a work-free weekend......yep - there it is, my cue to shut down the computer....the magical sound of the Hare Krishna community of Brisbane parading down Adelaide Street.  A sea of smiling faces pass by the office window, chanting happily as I run for the door.....This is the exact carefree, relaxed atmosphere that you'll find at Govinda's restaurant in Brisbane, once a hidden gem, now a well established all-you-can-eat buffet of more-ish vego goodness!  The kofta balls are a perfect entree, accompanied by the curry of the day, throw in some poppadoms and a fresh yoghurt lassi to wash it all down.....you'll stuff yourself to the point of explosion (in a good way!) and then finish off the experience with a delicious desert drowned in custard......mmmmm!  The decor is great, the people are friendly and there is a awesome welcoming vibe, that not only exists in the Brisbane restaurant, but in Govinda's around the country.  Who can argue with the prime city location, low unpretentious price tag and communal loved up feeling - it truly is cheap and cheerful!
