We're intending to drive around the Margaret River region of Western Australia - an area we missed out on our last visit (because we couldn't drive and it's a difficult area to see by public transport). Just need a compact car, probably will use one of the more reputable global firms and most likely will look to pick it up in Bunbury.
We've never hired a car abroad before. Is it best to book up before leaving the UK, wait until we arrive (we'll be in Perth for a few days before heading down to…

hi,

I have some relatives overseas arriving in late august and want to spend 5-7 days in a wine region. We live in Sydney, but could fly to Adelaide or Melbourne. Any advice as to which wine regions in NSW or VIC that would be prettiest at that time of year?

Thanks

I'm travelling Australia until early September and I'm based in Warrnambool. Apart from the Great Ocean Drive and neighbouring Melbourne - is there anywhere to drive or any good things to see within the surrounding areas? I'm not afraid to road trip to other areas because I'm lucky enough to have a car .. What would you advise?

Hi guys,

We've got up to 6 free nights on a trip next year in which we are considering driving between two of the cities we will be visiting. Our itinerary is pretty flexible in terms of the order, so our options are either:

Sydney - Brisbane
Melbourne - Sydney
Melbourne - GOR - Melbourne
Melbourne - GOR - Adelaide

We already have a number of nights in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne so these 6 nights would purely be able to be spent getting from one place to another.

Given we would be…

Hello,

We are planning a 6 to 8 week trip to Australia next June/July 2016 as a family (children 12-14 years old). We like to take our time & spend a couple of days each time we stop. We also tend to avoid very touristy spots, unless we can't avoid it.

One of our dreams was to discover the great coral reef. As I understand from my early readings, it is very populated with tourists, expensive & I hear some people have prefered traveling the western route, snorkeling at Ningaloo.

I would…

Thanks everyone in advance - I will be in Australia for two weeks. I'm a solo female traveler who may not afford to visit again from US. I want to see as much as possible. I do not dive or snorkel or swim but enjoy walking around, hiking, & seeing landmarks. Need a safe,** reasonable accommodation in the cities**(so I can take the train) can't afford high end hotel. So far my schedule is this:
Sydney arrive 11:45am Sight seeing in the hop on and hop off bus. 2 nights and 3days(is that short?)

Hi,

My wife, 2 1/2 year old son, brother, and his girlfriend will be spending one week in FNQ. Brother is coming from overseas. We are flying into Cairns in August and are thinking of spending a few days chilling on the beach and a few days either in Daintree or Cape Tribulation. We are all adventurous but a bit limited with my son. Would like to snorkel, do some easy rainforest hikes, chill n beach, and hopefully kitesurf for me. Bro and girlfriend are very active and need access to outdoor…

I will be visiting Australia in February for 10 days. Will land in Melbourne and fly back home from Sydney. How many days is ideal for each city? Is it okay to visit Hobart in between for 3 days? I am interested in food, culture, outdoors as well as city too. Kindly advice. Thanks.
