Lonely Planet review for Twisted Sista
Bounteous baked goods include huge muffins, cheesy casseroles and overstuffed sandwiches on beautiful bread. Outdoor tables add to the slightly happy hungover vibe.

Busy which is always a good sign. Extensive menu range, food tasty and well presented. A number of delightful specials. Baked French-Itallian lunch dishes the service was good. Staff friendly. We enjoyed this cafe, will call again.

Gorgeous food i had a wonderful egg benedict, the staff are helpful and friendly prices are a little high but that is common in Byron Bay and the shop is a little crowded but for a good feed near the main street highly reccomended,

Twisted Sista
kmorgan recommends this,
The most easterly point of Australia has alot to offer: the beaches, shopping and many cafes and restaurant producing suculant morsels of flavour. But sometimes you find a place and once you have eaten there you can't turn back, you dream about it, and you return again and again.
When we first stepped into the little Mediterrainian/Australian cafe we were uncertain. It was afternoon, we had already had lunch and were just looking for a small snack. There is no "small" snack here. We found ourselves standing infront of the glowing display cabnet, our mouths watering at the shear volume and colour of the many oversized vegi stacks, turkish sandwiches, fritatas, and salads, each trying to tower over the other for attention. A mass of fresh, organic, healthy, and above all, completely dream enticing food. Not to mention the oversized muffins still cooling in their tray on the counter, and then theres the home-made deserts, equally as impressive in size and volume.
If your on a shoe string budget then Twisted Sista is a little on the pricey side, but when your slab of 15cm high vegi stack arrives at your table with an over sized (and unexpected) gourmet side salad, which looks equally as nice as anything in the display, you realise that you may have actually payed too little, and that you wont need to eat for a few days now.
A few words of warning though. Get in early. It is a little cafe and fills up fast. If you don't want to spend your meal bumping chairs with the table behind you then timing is vital. Also, there is a jaw dropping menu of smoothies and frappes enticing you on the wall, they are a meal in themselves. If you order one of these sumptuous beverages don't drink it all before your meal arrives, as you will only make it two bites into your order.
You need a great core of self control to enter this place. Your eyes will always be bigger than your stomach. We arrived looking for a light snack but left with bags full of take-aways for dinner.Good for: food, Solo Travellers
